Camp Jotoni Family,
I am writing to inform you of the most difficult
decision we have had to make in our 43 years of
operation. Based on the current guidelines
handed down by the CDC, local officials and an
abundance of caution we will suspend Camp
Jotoni for the summer of 2020.
Covid-19 has created a situation none of us
expected, but it will not stop the Camp Jotoni
spirit from thriving!
In the coming weeks will be rolling out our plans
for virtual options for some recognizable
programming and well-wishes for any who want to
participate. These will be available to all camp
families and will provide some ideas for activities,
Zoom opportunities with staff, other campers, and
more. We are aware that camp and respite are
not virtual services but we do hope to stay
connected to the many who consider Camp
Jotoni vital to their summer.
Over the next two weeks we will be making plans
for virtual events, organizing refunds and
answering questions that you may have. Most
importantly, we will continue to monitor the
guidelines from our state and federal partners in
hopes to resume respite opportunities once they
can be held safely.
We look forward to ‘seeing’ you all very soon!

At Camp Jotoni our mission is to provide recreation and respite services for children with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We are an ACA accredited summer camp with both day and residential sessions.
At Camp Jotoni we offer 7 week long sessions of day camp for both children and adults. Day camp runs Monday through Friday beginning at 9am and ending at 3pm. During those hours campers will experience nature, games, physical education, arts & crafts, music, swimming and lunch. Lunch is prepared on the premises and is included (Menus can be found under Camper Resources).
New this year, Camp Jotoni will be offering 1pm-5pm hours for campers that are enrolled in a half day extended school program. Contact Us for more information about this program.
Camp Jotoni will not provide transportation during weeks 2-7 of day camp.
Our residential program runs for the first 6 weeks concurrently with our day program. Campers can sign up for 5-day, 7-day or 13-day sessions allowing flexibility for families. In addition to our day camp activities, residential campers will participate in activities such as tie dying, outdoor movies, DJ Dance parties and more. Campers attending 13-day sessions will take part in an offsite trip such as a baseball game, bowling, zoo, or aquarium. Residential sessions are open to all ages for weeks 2-7. After signing up for a specific session, camp administration will inform families of movie in times the week prior to attending. All New Residential Camper applications must be received before June 1, 2018. Any new residential camper applications received after that date will be automatically be placed on a waiting list. Please Contact Us for more information. Check out Camper Resources for Packing Lists.
Weeks 8 and 9 are our Extended Camp weeks. These weeks are reserved for school age children only (21 and under) and are meant to bridge the gap between the end of the extended school year and the beginning of the new school year. As our most popular weeks parents are encouraged to sign up quickly as there are a limited number of spots. Please go to our Camper Resources section for more information regarding Perform Care funding for Camp Jotoni’s Extended Day Camp Program.
Camp Jotoni will provide transportation these three weeks. Any parents or families that want to take advantage of Camp Transportation must indicate so on their application and there will be a $75 per week fee. Camp Jotoni’s transportation is contracted through a local bus company and their will be one aide per bus. Camp Jotoni bus stops are group stops in Somerset County only and every effort will be made to provide a bus stop near the address provided on the application. Contact Us for more information about Transportation.
At Camp Jotoni we strive to promote independence and our travel camp is meant to encourage choice making and self-confidence through recreational activities. More details will become available in the Spring! Please Contact Us for more information!
